WASHINGTON, D.C. — A night intended for celebration and journalism turned into a scene of chaos and panic on Saturday evening, April 25, 2026, as shots were fired during the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton.
The Incident
At approximately 8:30 PM, while the gala was in full swing,
gunfire erupted in the hotel lobby area, just outside the main ballroom. The
event was attended by high-ranking officials, including President Donald
Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and Vice President JD Vance, along with
hundreds of journalists and celebrities.
Witnesses described a sudden rush of security personnel and

Suspect Apprehended
